For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Absolutely, read Rev. 21:8

I just read it and it mentions that "murders and fornicators and other sinners... . their portion will be the lake the burns with fire and sulphur, this means the second death. " I always thought that this meant there is no resurrection for such ones.

I don't believe there is "life after death" unless you are resurrected like Jesus did for Lazarus. Eccl. 9:5 says, "the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all. " I wouldn't consider a person living if they were conscious of nothing.

I sure hope there is! To possibly be re-united with your past family and friends would be a blessing in itself!!!

I believe the Gospel according to John in Klenger's message.

IMHO, the "living" and "dead" in Eccl. are referring to the spiritual context. They are both alive in the physical sense, but the "living" are living according to God's word, and the "dead" are not. The "living" believe in John 3:16 and are preparing for the afterlife by believing in the Holy Trinity and trying their best to know God before they die. The "dead" are only living for themselves and the trappings of the world around them, basically "dead" to God. :D

Yes sir,there is life.

The one thing I would always say loudly when I landed my parachute.

GOD LOVES A SKYDIVER!

Think about this. What would this world be like today if no-one had of followed Jesus. I am very thankful we have a savior.

Also another thing, does the Bible say there are no other civilized planets? With all the stars out there could God have more than one earth?

Teach your children to pray.

Say what?? I knew there was a reason I only read the Bible once  Everybody "thinks" they know what it says and they all think it says something different:rolleyes:

Big Toy,

I'll second you're thoughts on it. I listened to the entire set of tapes of the Old and New Testiments. There sure was alot of killing going on back then in the name of religion. Has anything changed?

I suffered through Sunday after Sunday of church with my parents. The preacher didn't care for my long hair and pointed it out with the Bible during his sermon. It was a small church. I later pointed out to my parents that the Bible says men should expose the tops of their heads "as in nature". We are to shave the tops of our heads so the hairless won't "feel" too bad about runnin' with the top down. Somehow that got translated in southern churches to mean a Ross Perot haircut. Seems alittle self righteous to me. The preacher's hair was against the Bible.

Then just a few years ago I took my wife to breakfast on our Harley. We picked a Spanish restaurant for some huevos and grits! It was Sunday and in came a crowd of Bible thumpers. As they ate, the preacher among them started to preach the gospel about the lowlifes among us who need to be saved. He nodded our way several times. I felt so good to know he was concerned about my soul! He was also concerned about rock music being the root of evil. EEEEEEvil mind you...

We left with newfound knowledge of why our lives are in shambles. Rock music... We decided to ride accross the Courtney Campbell causeway and back around to St. Pete on the interstate. Low and behold! There were about 150 sinners out representing 98Rock radio station with trash bags picking up trash that others had left behind. The big radio station van was broadcasting music from the beach and they were all doing a small part to clean up God's green earth while the hollier than thou crowd was back at the restaurant preaching hate for others. But they all had nice haircuts.

Life after death? We all live long after our deaths through our legacy we leave behind. Some live forever.

.

A buddy of mine calls them "BABY SOULS". He believes in reincarnation and says most of the Bible thumpers are Baby souls, meaning it is their first time on earth. They are full of passion for their beliefs. He says old souls tend to be nice comfortable people that don't try to control others and just enjoy the journey and not collect any Karma. Thats cool with me I think people can believe anything that helps get them through this life, as long as they treat everyone and everything with respect, or they can suffer the Karma that comes with that lack of respect . If there is such a thing as Karma? :D
