Is this a good deal (tires)?

I ran into a guy today that has a set of the aluminum wheels that came from the dealer on a 2000 truck and the set of Michelins 265/75/16 (only 500 miles on them) with caps for $600. Now my questions are as follows; just covering my bases will the backspacing etc. be the same for a 2000 and my 1999 3/4 ton truck; I am running 265/75/16s right now but is there a problem running a tire that is larger than stock; and is there a difference between the 4wd wheels from the dealer and the 2wd? The guy that is selling them has a 4x and I have a 2x. Thanks guys.

I can't help you with the wheel part, but I have gone through 4 michelins 265/75/16s in the past 12 month. 1 off road, 3 in town. all side wall damage. They can carry a big load.

Check you rear drums

Check your rear drums for clearance. They might work but you may have to have the drums trimmed on the outside. I have a 98. 5 and really liked the looks of the new factory aluminum wheels but found out about the clearance issue.



So, I bought American Eagle wheels. Different but they fit and look nice.



If they do fit then it will not matter whether or not you have 4 X $ or 2 wheel drive, they will fit either set up.

Dang, well I guess I'll stick with what i have. Anyone know of a company that makes a black powder coated wheel?

Although you may not can use them I think that is a pretty good buy for 6 bills. I have seen that set up go for 500 but not too often. Those wheels are worth a 100 a piece on the very cheap side.

BUY - BUY...

them and then sell the rims off at a reasonable price as individuals for us who want to have 5 rims that match (not the steel spare). Then we could rotate all 5 w/o the dis-mounting/mounting of the spare on the "nice" rim(s).



I would probably pay 75$ for one rim & cap (+s/h), just for the advantage of having 5 "matched" rims.



Just another cheap opinion 0. 015$... ... ...
