I've found an '03 Quad Cab, 555, auto, 4x4, 4. 10's loaded with everything minus leather. Includes nerf bars, bedliner, toolbox. It has 27k miles and is a single owner truck. He said he'd take $28,500. Thoughts?

NO. . Not in my opinion. For a few bucks more, you can get a new one in my neck of the woods. The only advantage to the used one is that it is a pre-cat converter truck and you shouldnt have the white smoke problem and you should get about 10 to 20 % better mileage than the new ones.

That is what I paid for mine a year ago with 44k miles, so if its clean thats probably not far off - that is low mileage for an '03

I got mine for just a bit less than that. I would go a few bucks more and go new if I had to do it again. No real problems, just % wise its not that much more for new vs wondering how it has been treated.

Take a look at Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and NADA. That's the only way you'll know what it is worth in your area. I just sold my 2001 for 25K. The book value on it was 25. 7K retail. The price he is asking for the 03 may be about right. Yes you can buy a new one for a few thousand more, but by the time you add tax and license, then the upgrades, you are going to be close to, if not over 40K... ;)

Not Bad, I just got a 03 with 15K on it loaded about like yours for 32K. Mine is a 250HP and no idea on TQ.

I only paid $33K and some change OUT THE DOOR for my latest CTD about 4 months ago! . . Go FOR THE NEW ONE! You will always wonder what the guy before you did to the thing or worse yet, was it wrecked? Carfax wont say if it was wrecked unless it was about to be totaled. Its your money and You asked... ... ;)

Your right about the price of a new one, but in my check book mama said we could not afford the taxes for a 05 and I think this one gets better fuel mileage. 18. 5 @70 with the CC on. That was mine reason. mama happy and I am happyer than my 2000 with 140K on it.

Here is a better buy ! If anybody is interested my '03 3500 SRW is available for $29. 75K, it is black/graphite/4X4 HO, auto, SLT, and only has 6400 miles on it. It has most options too except leather, and has about $1000 of installed accessories.

new for a few thousand more . I can give away another ep number this year :) .

Yep - you can get a new one for a few grand more - which makes selling a used truck hard. Some of the prices I see in the classified section are just ridiculous.
