Got a similar one (nightstar2) about a year ago, shake it for 30 seconds and get about 20 min of light. It really works, the brightness of the Nightstar is 350 candlepower, it will provide adaquate light in complete darkness. I like the fact that you never need batteries. Check out the nightstar2 here

Not sure about the one you are looking at, but it works on the same principle.

not sure if it is the same light or not but someone im stationed with someone that has a light like that. he uses it all the time and likes it. he told me he will never buy another flashlight. from what i have seen with his flashlight it looks like it would work for a long time.

My wife received one of the shake-m-up flashlights as a birthday gift from my daughter. It's not very bright. I conisder it a novelty. I have a number of battery powered LED flashlights from StreamLight, which work great for me. The one I have in my truck is a 3-AA cell with a single high-intensity LED. That this is very bright and very compact. I also have a number of MagLites that will run for years of occasional use w/o changing the batteries. My wife thinks I have a flashlight fettish. I think she's right.

See http://www.streamlight.com/products.htm and http://www.streamlight.com/tasklight_info.htm for lots of cool stuff. Oo.

I've got two, bought 'em about a year ago. Works well, but I still like my 4 or 5 cell Mag light better. But it would be great for an emergency kit, boat, cabin, etc where the batteries could be dead when you need it. I have it in my pack for camping. Rather than carry a bunch of extra batteries, it's just the flashlight.

Hammersley. .

I have 3 myself and have had them for a couple of years now. They are actually very good to have around for when the power goes out. They hold a charge long enough to help you move around and are bright enough to do most meaningful tasks. I keep 2 in the house and one in my big rig at work. They are great for when I am doing my pretrip inspection... ..... Andy
