Hi all,

Does anyone know what the seats are made of? All descriptions say leather but when I apply conditioner it doesn't respond the way most leather seats do. The Ram head looks stamped in the seat back and really resembles vinyl or even plastic. I know the Longhorn addition has premium trim but the Laramie seams a little lacking. On the positive side the durability of the seat covering is pretty incredible. I'm not seeing the wrinkles or normal wear I see in other leather seats. I'm not complaining I just need to know what type of treatment to apply to this material with out making it slippery. Is it really leather.:confused:

Thanks,

Always be wary of descriptions that specifically say "leather seating surfaces" or anything to that effect, as opposed to "leather seats". There's a legal reason for that wording. In the Laramie, only the facings of the driver and passenger seat cushions are leather, as LFrachtmonroe noted. Everything else is "premium vinyl"... the sides of the cushions, the backs of the front seats, and essentially the entire rear seat. Longhorns and Limiteds do have leather seating surfaces on the rear seats.

Kinda why I stay with cloth... at least I know I'm getting what I pay for.

Thanks,

I kinda figured-well I'll count my blessings, for being a 2012 they are holding up well. I guess I'll use the same treatment for the seats that I use on the window rubber and plastic trim with out making it so slippery that I'm afraid to hit the brakes. Maybe at some point it will see Katzkin.:{

Lessons learned.
