Arent the 325 hp motors supposed to have the 48re behind them? We have an early 2004 with the 325 in it and when i replaced the pan with a mag-hitech i had to use one for a 47re. And i know its not a 48 because the pan gasket was compleatly different unless they gave us the wrong gasket to begin with... but anyways it has been buging me since i replaced the pan. And i know its got the HO motor because the VIN is a C code and it says on the motor 325. .

thanks

it was probably a parts mix up because i only see one pan on the mag hytechs website wich is for a 727, which i think the 47re and the 48re share. . oddly enough the gasket they gave me looked like it could have gone on an aw4 in my parts jeep. . it was extreamly rectangular while the gasket for our dodge is more square.

If it had a "325" engine, it was an 04. 5. The early 04 (built before 1/1/2004), HO (VIN code "C") was 305 hp.

Also, all 3rd Gen's with an auto have the 48RE except for the early 03's. As I understand it, in early 03, you couldn't get the HO and automatic in the same truck.

Check my sig to see how I know. ;)

They probably sent you the gasket for an '04 Hemi truck. Those 5-speed automatics do have a different pan gasket shape.

The pans are the same for the 46,47 and 48 transmission's.

the shape is the same, sometime in 98 I think we made the change to the newer style filter, at that time the pan used got deeper. the stock one that is, the mag pans are the same. just an old 727 case. :)

The 45rfe doesn't use a gasket and Last I checked Mag hy tec did not offer a pan for it. The 47 & 48 are identical gaskets, the one that ships w/the mag cover is not a factory reusable so it will look different.
