Is this the right assembly for my 96? Also does anyone know the part# for the red filter at the bottom of the assembly? I think I damaged it and I am really lost now. I think there are too many differences between the assembly I removed and the new one, yet the mopar4less guys said this is the one???? Help! I'm trying to post pics so it will be easier to understand. The new one looks like a gassers assembly.

Definetely a gasser fuel pump module. The silver part on top is the fuel pressure regulator and it will have an electric fuel pump hanging in the center of it. A good parts man should be able to cross the part number off of the tag on the original pump.

If you are just trying to fix a failing fuel gauge you only need the sender unit ($35) not the entire module ($300). It is sold separately.

Fuel gauge is OK, I needed to replace the module because that metal sleeve got all sorts of gouges in it from the screws and wasn't even aligned properly when I removed it, so I decided to replace the whole unit. Thanks for the help guys, now I gotta do the exchange "drill". By the way I just put the old one back in for the time being until I get a new one so I'm sort of out of my 911 for now. Thanks again everyone!

I'll check back with you, Rammin On, when I finally get the correct one. Takes awhile since I'm in Hawaii, but I'll give you a PM when I finally do get it to see if you still want it, maybe a while though, but I didn't plan on doing anything with it when I get it out. Thanks

What about the filter at the bottom? I should still replace that right? Problem is I can't seem to get a part # from the stealers and mopar4less has been having problems with their server, causing slow responses.

I would replace the entire module if it has grooves in it. The grooves will allow the fuel module to tilt causing the gauge to read incorrectly. If I remember correctly they surpreceded the fuel module with the metal slides with a plastic unit but it's been awhile since I replaced one.
