Hi everone. Each night I get home and go online to only find my truck has not been loaded on a railcar. It went KZ status May 1. Is there anyone I should talk to, or is this wait normal. I ordered it on Mar 13. With fuel prices rising I am growing impatient.

Waiting

Hi, Sorry to hear about the delay but this year with railcars and engines in short supply, due to steel prices, it's common. I check my Dealerships Rail Yard daily and nothing is moving. I have trucks as old as 6 weeks already still not here. Good Luck at least the truck is worth the wait.

I want Patience and I want it Now. :D eg

TC-- you and I have a lot in common. I think my truck was shippable on the 6th or 7th. Each day it says the truck will be loaded at 7pm. Each morning they update to the next day.

My buddy who ordered his truck from the same dealer 3 days earlier waited a couple days after build to ship. His truck is in the U. S. on its way.

If I ran my jobs like this I would be very hungry.

Don't know what else to do except pour another double... .

Greg

I am in the same boat. I have people waiting on my 01. 5. My new truck was done on the 6th and it just sits there. I don't want to let my old truck go until I know when the new truck will be here. I hope this new truck is worth it. I couldn't even find a dealer that had a QC long box or a 6 speed to test drive. :(

My wife was really glad when I finally got it because I quit talking about it all the time. I had to wait about 6 weeks for it; more like 10 weeks if we start the clock when I started looking.

Mine was built on April 16th, released from the plant on the 28th, and loaded on a railcar on May 12th. Today, the railcar is apparently moving and has reached Nuevo Laredo. My dealer just shakes his head with frustration as he says "getting stock out of Mexico is always a b****".

It's true his shop is a long way from Mexico but it seems hard to imagine that now the trek north has begun, delivery to his dealership will not likely be before May 31st. I ordered on Februrary 9th. Proof that 'sold orders' do not get any priority!

Thank you to all who replied. I feel slightly better. CBrittan, is your dealer the one near the 401. Mine is in Essex. DCX has to do something about there order/shipping process. I work at the Minivan plant in Windsor and this has helped zero. I will buy from dealer stock next time.

TCrawley:

You've got that one right... ordering a Ram HD from DC is an exercise in futility. Ordered weeks before Xmas "03... truck delivered on 5/8/04. I will NEVER order again. Insight was useless. The dates don't jive and once it reaches a port, it cannot be tracked. My truck sat in the Baltimore ship yards for two months while they (DC, myself and the dealer) searched for it. My name was on the window sticker, yet it was lost in the yard for months.

Yup. My dealer is at 401 Ingersoll. A very helpful dealer, willing to share whatever info he has. I have found the 'Insight Network' website to be correct thus far, and today it shows the railcar with my truck has departed Laredo Texas.

T, ordered a 2500 on 3/6. Not a word yet. Last week another dealer called me to tell me about a 3500 SLT Lariat , SRW in Pat Blue with every option that can be ordered. I went to take a look and picked it up Last Saturday. My 03 1500 took 6 weeks. Man is this truck great. 15. 8 MPG first tank, all in town except for 1 20 mile highway test ride. Overhead said 15. 5 so it is close. On the highway the overhead said 19. 2 @ 65 mph. So far on this tank it says 15. 9. I'm happy as a pig in you know what.

Yes it cost me 8K more and I lose my $500 deposit. Not happy about that but now that it's done, I'm glad. 4x4 Quad 3500 , 48RE, SRW, SB

GPS, Lost track of all the other stuff it has. Adjustable pedals are also nice. Good luck with the wait.

Sorry for the Laramie insult. Old habits die hard. As a former Ford guy (switched over with an 03 1500 SLT) I guess there is still some of that in me. No GM left at all. I forgot to add, front end squeaks on rt side over bumps.

WStoops,

Why did you lose your 500. 00 deposit?

My dealer told me anytime i want to come in and have it back i can on questions asked. he said even if i don't want the truck when it shows up he will give me my 500. 00 back.

I would go in and fight for your 500. 00 back'

A good dealer will return the deposit to keep his reputation intact. Unless your order contract allows a refund they can keep it. This is the reason for the deposit, to insure you won't go somewhere else. It is a good idea when ordering to put dates to be met in the contract. This way no ambiguity when asking for money back.

When you go in to ask for your deposit let the dealer know you will post your experience for all to see how they handle you. If still no refund write a email to the owner with a link to this thread. The dealer will probably want to do the right thing.
