i just change my oil for the first time. i put the 12 qrt. in ran it for about 40 miles and checked my oil when i got home. it shows about 3/8 to a 1/2 inch high on the dip. is that ok?
Your engine holds 11 quarts, not 12. Lots of guys run with 12 quarts in it, but I do not. I am not sure if it will hurt anything but I would drain a quart out. Hope this helps.
I think I have been told it is hard on the seals because of the extra pressure. I would take a quart out to be safe and to keep from worrying about something going hay-wire on you.
