my 97 has no boost or power but egts are very high... . banks big head dose not respond to 30#s of shop air(my old turbo housing off the shelf has waste gate that responds to air pressure) is the gate open or closed on take off . this happened all of a sudden. any ideas:{

The wastegate could be stuck open, that would give you no boost and high egts. Can you manually actuate the wastegate? maybe wire it shut, and drive easily until you get it fixed. .

I presume you checked all the intercooler boots for holes and proper positions..... IIRC, the big head should be pulling the dump valve closed, and actuate at a higher level than stock... . it might be set slightly higher than 30lbs. If it's a sudden loss of boost, I'd say it's possible you could have cracked the exhaust housing, or the dump valve could be stuck open by some carbon... but it should build some boost... . just not much. If you have absolutely no boost, I'd wager more along the intercooler boots, intercooler, or intake manifold, or a stopped up catalytic convertor, smashed exhaust pipe, stopped up air filter... ... start looking elsewhere, IMO.

Gate should remain shut until boost parameter is met, where it opens to prevent any more boost from being built.

yes thank you. . the waste gate shaft is in the horizontal position which is closed right ... could the little flapper be blown off... i kept the old housing that bank$ replaced and the flapper seam like it is mounted loosely on the stock one... . i have a straight pipe . . cat ran off ... dose seam like stuck x brake. . ill check it again... is it possible the shaft the waste gate is hooked to could be broke? thanks for the help guys
