Let us know if you need help! I am sure UPS can ship stuff that some of our members have layin' around like screws , tarps , etc.

It may not be much that we can do but I am sure helping hands can send stuff somehow?

Thanks Guys!!!

We're starting to get pounded in Central Virginia. The worst of the hurricane should pass my area around midnight.

Truck and all cars are in the garage. Truck first of course!!!:)

We should be OK but we'll start shouting if we need some help afterwards!!

The wind is just starting to really pick up now. The eye should pass to oue west late tonight and the worst of it is to be out of here in the morning. They have already closed work for tomorrow. The truck is hooked up to the camper and parked heading into the wind.

It's starting to rain here pretty good and the wind is picking up. All schools are closed. The eye is supposed to pass real close(Garrett Co. )tommorow at some point. We(Alegheny Power)will be busy for a while,if not here we will go elsewhere. It's supposed to die down a little by the time it gets here,I hope... . Doug

Just got my internet service back!

We fared pretty well. No damage to the house, just alot of branches and leaves all over the place. We lost phones & power for around 16 hours. Not bad when you consider that almost 80% of the state lost power. Took a drive into town this morning and saw large trees that fell, moved off to the side of the roads all over the place. They really seem to get their act together down here!

Hope every one else fared as well as we did!!!!!

Just got a chance to get back in here. I've been working 16 hour days with the line-men,somebodys got to keep the trucks running:rolleyes: . We've pretty much got our area cleaned up,but there is still plenty of work to the south and the east. I seen on the weather channel that D. C. was still out. These line-men deserve more credit than they get. They are out there in the worst of weather usually and handling enough voltage to fry anything, and getting bi##hed at by alot of people. I've heard of 2 or 3 line-men deaths during this outage. I guess just some of our un-sung hereos who do their job without any complaining... Doug

I've heard that in the eastern portions of North Carolina and Virginia, they still have thousands of people with out power. Estimates say that some will be with out power for another week or two. They really must have been blasted to pieces in those areas!!!

We got power back at midnight on Sunday evening. ;)

A couple off buddies in Southern VA are still out and will remain so for quite awhile.

Dennis (RATTLINRAM) said he had several miles of power lines/poles down in his "Grid".

Glad you guys got your power back. I've seen a lot of out of town bucket and digger trucks rolling in,heading down south. Hopefully they will be back on shorlty. My brother is working near Norfolk staying at a campground. No power for probably a week. We still have a lot of isolated trouble here,we get it all up and then get some more wind and rain, more lines down:mad: ... Doug
