Love the Gauge... but the gauge sets on 150 deg with the truck off... Is this normal... I would think it should be around the outside air temp... . 70-80deg

Most of them sit at 100 degrees when engine is cold.

Mine sits just below 100F when off. You might want to check your connections.

I ordered ISSPRO's first and mine sat at 50F when it was 100F outside here this summer. I called about this and was told that alomost all of the ones on the shelf in the shop I called read either 50F high or low just sitting there.

How did I calibrate it? Returned it and bought another brand.

My first one read high, so I returned it for another one, and it reads low across the whole scale.

my buddy picked up a welding marker, that is made to turn colors or melt or something at 1200 deg. Next time I am over there, we are going to put it on the end of the probe and heat it until the 1200 deg mark and see what the gauge reads. then I will put to rest this feeling that the gauge is useless once and for all.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The probe/gauge is designed to be most accurate between approx. 500 and 1100 degrees F. You can test it with a point and shoot heat sensor although the EGT is likely to be higher than the mass of the manifold.

I hate to sound like a grump here, but who cares what the gauge says when the truck is stone cold? I only care what it says when I have my right foot planted firmly against the firewall.
I love my Isspros',and I also must have the a rare set that actually works because the calibration is just as accurate as a buddies SPA gauges.

I hope mine work also because I need them to work when I am towing, but since I have had 2, and both read something different going down the road, I want to "test" mine. When I get around to testing it (maybe this weekend) I will post the results.

My ISSPRO works just fine, checked with medical pyrometer, it was right on at 600 deg. F.
The other day it was below freezing (50 deg. F. ) an by golly the thing was pointing right at 50!!!!
