I recently got a set of Isspro white faced EV gauges all mechanical exept for the pyro. My fuel pressure gauge makes a rattling noice when the engine is running, and depending on the pressure it can get worse or better. The needle doesn't vibrate though. The needle stays still and gives an accurate reading. I have a straight diesel line running to it. It sounds like air but I wouldn't know how to bleed it. My brother's gauge does the same thing. I have a buddy that has an Autometer Ultra Lite mechanical FP and has a straight diesel line running to it and he has no problems at all. Do any of y'all have this problem? Thanks

Eric

I had the same problem earlier this week. Some of the guys suggested I put a needle valve on it. So I did, it cleared up the problem right away. Just put the needle valve on the line and barely open it.

You need to bled the air out of the line at the gauge, I have to do this about every other month, Stick the hose in a large drink bottle and bump the starter (don't start it), let the lift pump run a second or so and reattach the hose back to the gauge

Just an FYI. I had a needle valve in my line off of the bottom of my fuel filter banjo. I had a small leak on the fittings because I had used teflon tape on them. When I went to take line apart to put new sealant on the fittings, the brass nipple broke as I got the wrench on it. My needle valve was a 1/4 inch brass valve and was fairly heavy for it's size. I guess the vibration was too much for it. I would be careful about using brass fittings to support the valve. I replaced them with steel fittings and decided to leave the valve off. I have an isolator and have never had any problems with the noise or vibe.

Needle valve is all you need. However, since it is rattling, it will dissapear with the needle valve and return later. I would send the gauge back under warranty and add the needle vavle to protect the new one.

As far as draining the line, that's a lost cause. Unless the gauge is mounted lower than the attachment point. it will always drain. An exception to this is if you have a 12Valve overflow valve in your VP like I do. There is no bleed hole in it, so no air enters the system. It keeps the gauge line primed. While this is not 100%, it is pretty close.

I have a needle valve, and an SS braided line runnin right to the back of the gauge. The gauge reads smooth and just fine, but I to hear buzzing. So what would cause this?

I was going to try and move where I tapped in further away from the VP44 and see if it quiets things down.

ISSPRO came out with a little device that they call a Pressure Gauge Snubber. Seems to have good results. They come with 3 different pistons: Diesel Fuel, Oil, and Air. It comes with the diesel fuel piston already installed as most users will use it that way. You can take a look at them on the bottom of this page on our site: http://www.dieselmanor.com/isspro/isspro_accy.asp

It has a 1/8"NPT male and female threads.

Well I would do that, but I'm runnin an aftermarket fuel system. So that wouldn't work.

Diesel Manor- Where exactly would that little snubber go, behind the gauge or where I tapped in? Here's a pic of my set-up:
