Isspro EV install

Yet another gauge install question.....



I read for 4 hours on the search and couldn't find the answers to these questions:



I have Isspro EV series gauges ordered. My questions are on the fuel pressure install.



I'm going to use a tapped bolt off of the fuel filter housing through a grease gun hose, then through a 1/4 turn valve (all 1/8 npt I believe). I'll be using a #3 AN braided hose to go up to the gauge from there.



What fittings will I need?



Does the Isspro fuel pressure gauge have a 1/8 npt male or female on the back of it, or is it AN?



Will I need a 45 or 90 for the back of the gauge to get the braided hose hooked up?



Keep in mind, it's going into a triple pillar pod.

I'll chime in with what I know. I have an ISSPRO fuel press. guage sitting in my new triple pillar mount now. I am doing away with my electircal westach gauge. Anyway, the fitting is 1/8" MALE on the back of the gauge. I would say that a 45* fitting off of the gauge would be nice to run your plumbing down the new pillar. I attached mine to my factory a-pillar but haven't plumbed it in yet, so I don't know for sure if you should use a 90* or a 45* fitting. Seems to me that a 90* fitting would be too sharp of a bend, but like a said, I haven't plumbed it in yet. I hacked the old one pretty good but I just couldn't stand the single screw that I have holding my dual pod pillar on now.

Hillbilly - why use a grease gun hose? Use a needle valve instead of a 1/4 turn valve... screw the needle valve directly into tapped fitting. The needle valve will dampen pulses better, thereby making the needle on the gauge steady.



Because the gauge pod sticks out quite a ways from the A-pillar, there is no need to use a 90 or 45 degree fitting. The steel braided line will flex enough to give the proper radius.



I have the same setup and didn't have any leaks/problems since installing 10 months ago.



I'd have to take another look at fittings to confirm exact size/type.

Forgot to mention, I found it easier to put the fuel pressure gauge in the bottom hole of the gauge pod. Good luck!

Have another suggestion for your gauge install. Use pinch weld weather stripping along the outer edge of the gauge pod. This will close the gap between the windshield and gauge pod. Looks real good.

awesome idea Dwayne. that will hide the plastic rivet i have used to attach the pillar to the factory one. Thanks again I'll have to remove the passenger side pillar and do the same thing with the weather stripping. If you're gonna do it, do it right. I have been thinking of ways to hide the rivet and make a clean looking "factory" install.
