I am ordering gauges in the morning. So, I have a simple question, guys. Why did you choose Isspro over VDO?
Prompt replies will be MOST helpful.
Thanks,
Jim

I got mine 6 years ago - I didn't look very hard. I believe I got them from Banks - time flies when you're having fun. I've had no problems at all with them during that time. Hope this helps.
Happy Trails

Thanks Bob, it does help. Any other comments from the group? I know I can get the isspro gauges for a little less than the vdo's, and the vdo gauges do match the oem gauges better but, the savings from the isspros can go toward injectors or exhaust goodies. If there is no difference other than cosmetic... it's a no brainer.

I've used ISSPRO gauges for almost 30 years, even before they were ISSPRO, in my wild go-fast days. Never any problems. It might also be because they are located just down the street and I knew I could always walk in the door with a problem and walk out without one. They recently very simply exchanged the non-adjustable egt probe that I bought mail order for the proper adjustable one, no questions asked. The reason I didn't buy from them directly is that they protect their dealers and I could get a lower price from one of them.

Last call for comments about isspro vs vdo ... good or bad. Will do the deed in one hour. Get your . 02 worth in. Thanks.

buzzard, I'm in the same boat as you, I had settled on VDO since they look like the stock gauges, however, since I received my TST cam plate, it looks like I need more than a 30lb. boost gauge. That's moved me over to Isspro.

I've invested quite a bit of time lately on the phone and PC looking for the best deal.
At the moment, it looks like it's between DIS of Texas and the Montana Isspro dealer. Montana (1-800-359-2819) is about 5 bucks cheaper on the gauges, however their 2 gauge pod mount is more is about $5 more. So it's a wash, They are within . 60 of each other.

Both say the boost gauge (p/n R8603) is on back order. How does this compair with your findings?

i have the isspro gauges , got them from DIS , i wanted a boost gauge that went higher than 30 so that was the only choice for me , the only negative to me is the face on the EGT , but i can live with it . unlike other posts i have seen i get no turbo whistle transmitted thru the nylon tube , at least not that i can hear ...

Thanks to everyone. Your input was greatly appreciated. I ordered the Isspro from D. I. S. Great price! Why Isspro over VDO? Well, I really liked the idea that vdo gauges closely matched the oem gauge appearence. However, the vdo gauges also matched (IMHO) the "non-specific markings" of the oem gauges. As opposed to the Isspro gauges, which have markings in finer delineations. Also, the boost gauge went to 35 instead of 30. And that might become important in the near future. Going with the A piller mount... hope that works out. Again, thanks for the replies to this post.

buzzard,
I'm a little late to help you on your choice, but, the lights on the Isspro suck. The boost is bright and the pyro is dim. When mounting, make sure you put the boost on the bottom (if using a pillar) or it will shine in your eyes.
Good Luck,
Ron

I went with Isspro because I wanted the boost gauge that went up to 50psi.
The pyro was a little brighter than the
boost,so what I did was leave the 158 bulb in the pyro and put a 168 bulb in the boost
and topped them off with green bulb condoms.

mike r , what year honda did you find the bulb condoms in ??? i want to get them for mine , i am going to wire the lights hopefully this weekend along with the turbo temp monitor ...

Hey Mopar, if you have a larger sized truck stop in the area they have the bulb rubbers in a few different colors ( red, blue, green, and ???) They are only a couple of bucks!! John W.

I couldn't decide, mostly because of the VDO boost guage. I mounted the VDO Vision guages on the A-pillar for looks. And mounted the Issopro boost guage next to the cup holder via Geno's custom plate. Do need to get brighter bulb and green condom for boost guage. As for the VDO guages, hands down - best I've seen! #ad

I should have said it before, but if you order the ISSPRO EGT gauge, and are going to install it pre-turbo, make sure that you ask for the adjustable probe. I received a non-adjustable probe that would bottom out on the manifold, that's why I had to exchange it with ISSPRO.
