Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New turbo under warranty???

I just purchased my '98 12v and absolutely love it. It has the older style Isspro EV R607T pyro, and it seems as though the pyro is not working properly on the low end, or else I have very hot engine. Pyro is pre-turbo. When I start it up, it immediately goes to 350*, and when I shut it down after running it easy & empty, it takes FOREVER for it to go below 400*. It never goes below 350* no matter how long I idle it. It also doesn't seem to cool any faster whether I have it in park or neutral... I have given up waiting, and just shut it down @ 400*. :{ Does anyone know what might be wrong here??? My '99 heavily bombed 24v 5spd would come down to 300* or lower in only 30 seconds or so... .

What gives????  I would rather shut it down @ 300* and save my stock turbo, but it never comes down that low!

See sig for bombs... .

There was a problem with calibration on the early EV pyros. Some where in the archives is a method to recalibrate them. It is best that you actually check your exhaust temp and then have the pyro calibrated. I did my own by installing a known pyro and them comparing my readings. My EV was about 300 higher at the top.

As tgbol stated, there was a calibration problem from the manufacture on the early EV pyros. I have one of them.

I questioned the temps, but had no way to verify the readings. I bought a used VDO pyro. It indicated the EGT was substantially lower than the EV. At 1300 degrees on the EV, the VDO was about 950 degrees. I run both gages now, but hold the power to the EV gage.

Not knowing which gage is correct, I ordered a new EV yesterday. Hopefully, two of the three gages will read the same.

I will run two gages (correct) in the future, just to make sure I get a correct reading. If my old EV is correct, I guess I will have to get a bigger turbo. If the VDO is correct, I do not need the turbo and I can use all of my HP. I am about 350 HP now.
