isspro tach off of harness in dash

Friend asked me to put a tach in his 93. I mounted it into a pillar with the pyro and then went to wire it up. I don't have schematics for a 93 or older so Iam not sure where the harness the wires are supposed to tie in. Is it behind the speedo cluster? Years ago, I put a few of the stock dodge accessory tachs in these trucks, but they actually came with a wiring diagram.

Maybe there is something missing in this tachs instructions, but I am not impressed with the very vague info sheet the wiring harness kit came with. It keeps referring to the vehicles wiring diagram, so I guess we're stuck until I can get copy from a shop or else here.

part # for wiring kit is r8912-92

tach is a mini isspro 2 1/8 , no part # on the tach, no box either.

I'm going by memory here- the 92 is gone for now...

But it is a flat 4 plug, I believe somewhere near the steering column, to the left a hair(?). I have the wiring instructions of which wire on the tach goes to which function; think the link above may go to that thread- I didnt look. (21. 6K dialup- we're out in the STICKS). PM me if the thread didtn answer your question.

Thanks Phillip, that was exactly what I needed. I searched for it, but didn't get that thread.

This site is proving better than my service manuals!! (I had doubts of it when I first heard of it thinking it was just another hot rodders chat room. You folks are great, guess that's what I get for listening to the opinions of others. I asked three of them for this info and all came back after a week with nothing. ) I drop a post here and I have a response in less than 24 hrs. Now that's what I call a great info forum!!

There are many years of auto mechanics experiences around here. Sure it might be a site you have to pay to do anything other than read. But just a couple of problems at dealers repir prices can more than make up for what membership costs here.



It was easy for me to find that thread for you. I had posted in it. I just did a search on my user name. I knew which post it would be in.



We do have a chat room also. But mostly that isn't for talking about repairs "to much". LOL

Believe me after reading through the site a few hours last month, I was shedding any and all misconceptions I was given by friends. THe membership fee is not a problem in my opinion, I will happily pay it for the info and friendly community this appears to be. (I guess I should read the politics threads before saying that huh? Nah, I'll leave that dog sleeping).
