Hooking up an ISSPRO Turbo Temp Monitor. Can someone please tell me which wire to use for the "ignition wire" hookup? The idea is that you can shut the key off and walk away and this box shuts the engine down after temp goes below 300 degrees.

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm sure this is an old subject but I'm not being creative enough with my search criteria tonight.

Jason,

Thanks for the quick reply (I wasn't even finished bragging to my wife how fast TDR members would be;)

I tried to reply to you via email, per your request, but got a message saying your profile does not allow email replies. Unless I goofed, you may want to check that.

Any way, I wondered if you simply hooked it up to the light blue wire, per the DIS page instructions, or did you build Steve's fancy add-on circuit? I'd rather not go to the extra trouble, but I don't want the airbag blowing up in my face either!

Thanks again. Mine is a 2001 also, so appreciate your help.

I did follow steves fancy instructions, and did all the extra work, if I where to follow DIS the blue wire would be the one. But I think you will have the same problem steve did with the air bag and abs lights.

Jason

Ill check that email thing too. thanks

Thanks Jason. I'm getting tired and have a trip to make this weekend. I may try the blue wire just to see what happens, because I was all excited to have this working (just finished new gauge install too), but it sounds like when I get back, I'll be making a trip to Radio Shack.

Update:

I installed the ISSPRO using the blue wire - it works fine and I don't seem to have any of the problems some have had with airbag or other alarms. FWIW, mine is a 2001 QC, 4x4 AT.

Unfortunately, when I was buttoning up for the night, I ran a screw right through a hot wire and popped a fuse somewhere that I can't find - arghh! (I'll start a different thread on that)

Other than that, the ISSPRO box works as advertised. Really cool!

Jim, when you turn off the key don't the ABS and air bag warning lights turn on and a chime go off? It would be interesting if they don't because it means they've changed the circuits quite a bit.

Steve,

No, there were no chimes or abs lights going off. No kidding, up until I "screwed up" (pun intended-see my other thread), it worked exactly as expected. But before we declare your extra circuitry not needed any more, let me find out what I did to myself and do some testing when I'm more awake. In fact, over a cup of coffee this morning it occurs to me that when working on all this last night, I had the door switch jammed so I could run the radio without listening to the door chime, so I may not be home free yet.

I will keep this thread posted as to the results.

Thanks,

JimD

I've had mine in for about a month now. I only hooked up to the one wire (light blue I think?) Yes, the ABS and Air bag lights illuminate and the chime goes off but I haven't bothered to do anything about it yet. Don't know if I ever will. One thing I miss is the headlight chime. Came out of a store one time and realized I left my lights on. I may have to do something creative to solve that one.

Steve,

As a followup , I've finally fixed the problem I created by shorting a wire that night when installing my TTM. As a reult, a fuse was blown that I couldn't find and Dodge fixed it today. Now, as a result, the TTM DOES cause my door chime and ABS light to act as you described. Just wanted you to know that there was nothing special about my truck and the circuits haven't changed since you created the circuit that solves this little feature.
