I guess I am no longer part of the family. I traded my '01 in for a gasser. It is still a Dodge, but not a CTD. I will still check in from time to time until my subscription runs out. I will have another CTD in the future. Thanks to everyone who helped me with the problems I had on my '01.

I'd hang in there Gary. We talk about many more subjects other than Cummins diesels. We talk about gun to RV's and everything in between.

Stay with us, you're still part of the family. Unless you had bought a Furd or a GM.

I agree with Grizzly. It'a good way to keep up to date.

We sold our CTD back in March, but I can't quite bring myself to leave the TDR.

I dont know how you guys do it. I had a diesel when i was 16 then totaled it, went gasser for 3 years and im 19 now and dont know how youd pry me away from one again...

Many people have families, Mortgages, more than 1 car payment, etc to pay for. Being 19 I surmise you may not have many of these bills. I know I did not when I was 19. So they have to make sacrifices and sell their beloved CTD. I am fortunate enough not to have to be in that situation. My wife and I have good jobs and no kids yet.

I really feel sorry for all of you that have to sell your truck on account of these high energy prices, it is really kicking the middle class in the knuts! We don't get out nearly as much as we used to.

Here in Alaska we are blessed with the highest prices in the nation now, and we have the AK pipeline running through our backyard. #@$%!

My wife and I got lost in Wasilla two years ago. Took the wrong turn on Old Steese, or something, Highway. We loved Alaska. That was our second trip. We'll make more trips if the cost of diesel gets somewhat affordable.

If it wasn't for RVing, and the need for a decent towing truck, I'd undoubtedly be driving some variety of gas powered truck myself - need a truck for occasional hauling even without the RV - but not necessarily the diesel. BUT, since my '02 is bought and paid for, no sensible reason or $$$ advantage in replacing it with anything else, even without the trailer.

But hard times hurt many among us and they aren't over yet by a long shot!

priorities change... $75 a month isn't much of a retirement fund

If you're doing all that, and raising a family as well, you're doing great - but many here ARE married with kids, and unless they are both working (when did we start accepting that as a "normal" requirement for married folks?), it leaves little or nothing for "goodies" or frivolous spending...

I know that first hand , 3 kids a house to fix . When you tighten down on things and get a few dollars extra. You know it never fails somthing else goes up in price:mad:and your right back to just making it again. but you do what you do for the kids. and my wife works also. her at night me during the day. dosent seem like i have a wife somtimes. just 3 great kids.
