It seems like with the new 275's, adding a plug and power or one of those boxes wouldnt hurt my auto transmission with out upgrading it. It just seems like the 275's that i put in wasnt a "huge" jump in HP. From what i read from others that have put in 275's they got some great HP. Maybe I was expecting more I dont know or maybe they are not working properly? Or maybe Im just trying to talk my self in to buying a plug and power, hehe. But it really doesnt seem like I would hurt my transmission???? But everyone says upgrade the transmission first. Any thoughts?

Gauges! Did you add a pyrometer and boost gauge yet???? That should be your first order of business. In your case a transmission temperature gauge is essential as well.

John's right. Gauges should be put in before any modifications are done to the engine. Ask JNutter, he'll testify to that. That being said, I installed my injectors and didn't see a huge increase in power. Add a fueling box, whoa!!! The 275's on thier own only add ~35 hp. It's enough to notice, but not enough to crease your rear end.
People add the injectors because the stock injectors will only allow so much fuel. The bigger the orifaces on the tips of the injectors, obviously the more fuel is delivered. But you don't want huge holes in the tips because the downsides would be poor atomization of the fuel, fuel dribble, washing of the cyl. walls, etc. That's the short of injector upgrades.
Back to your original point, adding a VA (aka BD P-N-P, timing module) may or may not require a transmission upgrade. I have heard that you probably won't need it. However, email some of the guys that have that setup in thier sigs. They would be the ones to know. If I were you I'd upgrade the transmission anyway. BOMBing is an addiction. Pay a little now or alot later for your transmissions' health.
Anyone else have any other advice for Sky?

OUCH OUCH - you should be able to do much better than that. They aren't that hard to install yourself, btw. There are great instructions for doing it.

Heh your talking to Sky here, I am unable to do such mechanical things on my own to my truck, some day i will learn. I will check around to see if I can get a better prices.

I vote for DTT's upgrade first. In my opinion this makes more improvement than increased power, with stock power you can't utilize it until the TC locks up. You might find you won't need the power upgrade but remember, there's a big difference between need and want. It's addictive.

Sky, if you were anywhere near "the wilds of Oklahoma" I'd install your gauges in a heart beat and only for beer and horsefeed #ad
. Seriously, labor should only run you $50-75 dollars at the MOST! That $600. 00 is a rip off.

After adding the VA CPC (a. k. a. BD Plug-N-Power) to my list of other modifications, I was able to slip the TC at will. BTW, Ted Jannetty said this would happen without transmission upgrades. Ted's recommendation with a stock transmission was either Bosch 275 injectors OR VA CPC... BUT NOT BOTH! Shortly thereafter I upgraded my transmission. See signature.

sky , i put about 20k miles on my truck with 275's and a VA , trans WAS holding up well , other than my rpm drop between gear changes going from 500 rpm to 100 rpm all was well. of course in that time i was also doing some drag racing with a hot power edge.

i installed my VB and TC this weekend , if i didn't have access to a lift and a trans jack it would have been tough , but i'm a very capable backyard mechanic , and having friends in the business that have well equipped shops at my disposal doesn't hurt either ... #ad

i suggest you get gauges , find someone to give you a hand , or take up the offer the next time one of the NWBOMBers offers and then upgrade your trans BEFORE anymore HP increasing mods , i was lucky and doing it backwards didn't cost me a bundle.
