I have been keeping my speed at no more then 60 and very light on the fuel peddle. I am up to 19. 8 sp far. But It hard to drive like that on the Interstate. Everybody passes me. The automatic Is very nice and I like It so far have not pulled my car trailer yet and that will be the story. I thinking about putting a transmission temp gauge on my truck. If you are pulling I think you need one, otherwise you are guessing and that no good.

going 60 on the interstate is dangerous

Depends. Here in CA the trucks are limited to 55mph. When we drive with the camper, we usually hang in the slow lane with the truckers.

I have been in states though where the trucks move at 70, and I would agree, better stay moving with the flow of traffic or get your arse run over!

I watch the overhead to see and when I fill up I use a pencil for the correct reading. when I drive 65 they all pass me anyway. so far no problem. If traffic Is heave I drive with them to stay safe.

I've been running about 65 on I-10 in AZ and have gotten my dually up to 22mpg on the computer. There is always traffic running that slow so I don't consider myself a hazard. Anything over 2000rpm and the mileage goes in the toilet.

Trucks only going 70 on an interstate??? Not in Arizona by a long ways, these guys will drive 80+ if the terrain will let them!!!

Semis drive much faster in some of the far eastern states than in the west (except for maybe the metro areas like LA & San Fran). Maybe it just seems like that because there are more of them along with all the other traffic crammed on the freeway all flying along at 75-80mph, but the whole driving demeanor is much different than anything I've seen in the West. When I was cruising I-78 and I-84 in Eastern PA & Connecticut many of them were in the far left lane or quickly switching lanes going like hell at 80 in heavy traffic. Also driving 81 through Virginia down toward Tenn they were really cruising along. Pretty much all around NYC, DC, Philly and all points between the big cities seemed to be the worst. Coming into NYC we had one rig take us over while in a construction zone with narrow lanes. I think we were on the Bronx River Parkway. Anwyay he was doing double the work zone limit and taking up 1. 5 of 3 lanes weaving all over the place. People had to clear out of 2 lanes to get out of his way and he was flying by everyone.

Still dangerous!! Those split speed limits cause more accidents than they prevent I'm sure. I HATE! delivering horses to California if for no other reason than that.

People buzzing around at 80 trying to enter and exit the highway around the slow lane????? What idiots!!!!

Unless there is a copper nearby, where does a truck in Cali, run 55 MP  H?

Most professional drivers that rely on driving for a living stay fairly close to 55. Losing a license from too many tickets means losing the job and paycheck. I have also noticed that many drivers have slowed down as fuel gets more expensive.

I just got back for driving from San Francisco to Mesa AZ once on Hiway 5 Trucks in slow lane were going at least 70 as I speed picked up as I drove south ONCE I was on HWY 10 trucks in slow lane were doing80 to 85+ I had my my cruise control set and 86mph and kept having to move out of the way for a truck going faster in passing lane. Though I think our dodges speedos read about 5mph high
