Well after a YEAR of anticipation our mare finally gave us a big healthy new colt! long story short we're quite excited! My avitar is now him.

That is awesome! Did you assist or witness the birth? What's involved???

She was a maiden and dropped a week early about 6am. We got to him at 7 and spent untill 11:45 that night with the vet. It can go easy or be VERY involved. this one wasn't bad just a big boy for his momma and her milk wasn't ready so we had to get the vet out and intervine. He's fine now and will post more pics when it stops raining and he can really get out and stretch his stilts.

ive never whitnessed a horse giving birth, is it anything like a cow? do you sometimes have to reach into the dark abyss and grab a hoof??? :-laf

If its like any of the ones I've owned before, a lot of spirit involved in daily activities. Oo. Sometimes I think Arabs have ADD or something of the sorts. :-laf
