A BIG Happy Birthday.

Way too long since I've seen diesel less than gas...

But I took this today. It wasn't this price yesterday... It was 4 or 7 cents more a gallon yesterday, I'm sure.

I know, isn't it great

Diesel is about $1. 11 around here now and it seems to keep dropping. The last time I looked gas was about $1. 20 for the cheap stuff.

When I fueled up in DC suburbs last Saturday, PREMIUM unleaded was $1. 23..... #2, 42cetane diesel was $1. 37:mad:

I get to take a road trip to Lynchburg, VA this afternoon (hopefully fuel is cheaper in the boonies) with a U-Haul transporter in tow as Daughter called night before last with "My car died and now there's a puddle of something under it"

Oh, well..... I guess I needed ANOTHER project to work on this weekend.

Hey Power wagon. Diesel runs anywhere from 1. 09-1. 21 in the tri-cities. cheaper in pasco.

Diesel Price

I get $1. 05 diesel at the Conoco truck stop in Brookshire, TX. Funny to watch the faces of the Powersmoke drivers, lined up at the small nozzle, when I fill the CTD at the BIG RIG pumps. :D :D

Wasn't paying attention and had to fill up this morning at the neighborhood Texaco stop-'n-rob instead of Love's or Flying J. Paid $1. 19, same as premium unleaded.

Diesel generally carries more tax liability than gasoline. I like the way Arizona sells diesel. Private diesels pay 8 cents a gallon less than 18 wheelers. I wished Texas would adopt that program. Paid 105. 9 10 miles south of San Antonio this week. Bought 100 gallons... ... ... ... ... ... still going!

I travel through Arizona 4-6 times a year on I-40. I've found that some places won't give you the "automobile" price unless you ask, and I've found some that won't give it at all. That may be illegal but that was what happened! Other places give it with a smile. The best Ariz. price I usually find is at the Pilot a few hundred yards north of exit 48 near Kingman. But I also like "Little America" truck stop at Flagstaff. I always give them some business just because of their name and attitude!

The best I-40 price in New Mexico I've found is at "Flower Mountain" Travel Plaza at Acoma. "Flower Mountain" is actually an Indian gambling joint, and they use the low diesel price to attract truckers to gamble. I have mixed emotions about doing business with them, so fuel is the only thing I will buy there. I'm not sure if I'm being hypocritical or just frugal!

Got it for $1. 09 in Eugene a couple of weeks ago. Haven't been back up there since, so I'm not sure if its holding at that price.

Paid $1. 05 at the Flying J last night. AZ does discount the diesel . 08 per gallon if you're not commercial. The only problem is, only the truck stops are set up for the commercial guys. So any corner Chevron or such is just charging the "car" price but it is still much higher. I have never found diesel anywhere in AZ cheaper than Flying J. BTW, I was Indiana this summer, they charge . 08-. 10 or so more per gallon if you're not a trucker. The price you get from the Flying J web site is the truckers price in AZ so you can subtract the . 08.

$1. 06 at East Coast station Rt29 & Rt 17 Opal, VA. :D

Most other ststions $1. 11 from DC to Lynchburg.

Note... Daughter's car blew a transmission line, Thank goodness... . an easy fix. New hose clamps and 5 qts fluid. (oh well, I needed to change the fluid anyway).
