Where to buy cheapest BD brake?

WHOAAAAAAAAAAA BROOOOOOO!!!

Mark. . you are right!!! I don't know how the Hx-55 got into the mix??

Dee... . better go get a spare head gasket, it will be only a matter of time!:D Looks like the 17cm housing is working good for you at your elevation. Be interesting if your set-up will be able to handle towing... . Keep us up-dated Dee and watch those boost numbers.

Steve

Steve, I thing it will tow a light TT like mine ok at freeway speeds around here but at lower (55mph) speed it would probibly get too hot.

It sure is fun... .

I installed my HX-50 today in Detroit and drove home to the Indianapolis area, 300 miles. I was able to keep boost around 10 lbs. 800-900 degrees most of the way. I hit it one time to 35 lbs and backed off till I get a few more miles on it. I will be testing trailers on this set-up next week. I need to see how much I can tow to see what size TT or 5th wheel I can handle. I hope i dont have to throw a pup tent in the back due to temps. :( Lets see do I want a racer or a tower, hmmm:--)

I adjusted the AFC richer tonite and now it starts making boost at 1450 RPMs. :D

And once boost start it takes off like a ROCKET. :--)

The more I drive it the better I like it. It has Made my truck fun again!!!!

I ran the HX55 for a couple years, and all I heard was that it was a "lag pig" from the peanut gallery. Now it is the darling of the TDR for some reason (or is it that Piers is selling the smaller version of HX50 & 55 that supposedly spools faster but flows less??).

However, whatever is the case, the HX55 is now "obsolete. " :D I am running a much bigger turbo from Pius @ Bell Turbo. He gets nothing but highest respect out here for his knowledge, craftsmanship, and innovative designs. I am very happy with this new turbo, which has the part number MSB-3-1250. If I gave you specs or even what the part number translates into, I'd have to kill ya :) If you come to May Madness you can get a look at it. . .

Joe, Joe , Joe..... Always got to have the bigger better thing here. LOL

Piers has come up with a winner again here, this turbo is a hybred that uses the great compressor side and cartridge from an HX-50 with all of Piers reliablity mods and exhaust housing off of an (censored) turbo which he modifies to bolt right up where an HX-40 once was.

Joe, why don't you take old sickly and do some turbo dyno testing for the TDR mag. Use all of the HP turbo out there B1, B1B, PDR HX-40, PDR HX-50, and the moster your running now and show all of the dyno graphs on top of one another.

Every day life get better with Piers newest turbo, tonite two power strokes got to see it performance first hand:D

will it get out of the driveway???

So Joe, if the Hx-55 was a lag "pig", does that mean you have too now trailer your truck ?:D I'm just curious, how many guys will it take to push your truck on the Dyno this year?

Steve

It's too bad you won't be able to visit Salt Lake City anymore, as your truck and "air-stream" won't make it past St. George!:p :p

Expermintal Super Turbo?????

Blaire... Feed us a bone. How is the "expermintal Super Turbo" coming along? Is it the Joe Donnelly MSB ( much slower -blower) type???:D

Steve

Hey Steve it is nothing like Joe's, if I wanted to try to move that much air I would have twins. Sorry Joe but you took a while to warm up to DD injectors and I just hope it doesn't take as long to get a twin grenade system as you call it.

Enough harassing so how is the new turbo working Joe?

Secret????????

Blaire. . Me thinks you are "DODGING" my question? If you don't come clean, I'll have to have Gary spill the beans!:D

I've got my spies "embeded". :D

Steve

Hehehe.

Dee, yep I gotta have bigger and better, gotta keep ahead.

I'll test all those turbos when someone buys them and doesn't complain if Sickly pops them during the dyno run  Actually, I have run many of them and already know their limits

No the new Pius special is not much slower. It spools about like the HX55 I used the past couple years. Boost and egt are quite manageable. If you want to know more about it, come to May Madness.

I'm still competing with one hand tied behind my back. I'm letting the other guys run twins and get that 100 hp advantage, and I'm just running that one itty bitty turbo. If this single turbo holds up to Sickly, I won't need to go to twins for their reputed reliability.

Blair and I have the secret weapons from Pius. :D If you have seen the house he pulls around, you know his Ram must have really big ones behind that single turbo :)

Hey Blair, you should see how nicely the Pius special fits in the engine compartment. Just like it was OEM or sumthin'

Oo.

I am not trying to hide anything Steve, LOL as a matter of fact when I get done thrashing it for a while longer I have got the OK to send it to you for some testing. What do you think of that Buddy?????

I don't think it will be better than what you have for top end but it does spool pretty quick on the bottom for a big turbo and tows very nice. I beat on it last weekend at 8,500 feet and I was very pleased at what I saw. It will be interesting to get some feed back from you on this one.

Maybe we will have to do a swap at MM as I hope to get my loaner 40 back from Gary by then. No hurry Gary I hope you are enjoying it.

Next step for me I hope is a set of Pius twins, with some help on the piping from someone else. hint hint
