You were right! I just put that PDR hx-40 on my brothers 2002 Cummins this past weekend, I had to splice the new downpipe into the existing 4" S. S exaust. It went awsome.
The turbo he gave me was the hy-35W, I know that the hy doesn't breathe as well at higher speeds under a heavy load and it chokes out at 29 PSI vs the HX that I wanted. It supposed to build boost faster at light loads than a HX-35 and be better for stop and go traffic with an automatic.
How much better is this turbo then the stock HC-1 vs the hx-35 that I hoped I was getting? I like dragging new trucks and usually drive in the city so I want off the line power, will this turbo work for me? I got his 4" down pipe so I will finish off the exaust and I have yet to upgrade my intake.
You guys always talk about BHAF but I live in Calgary Alberta and we have snow, I am worried about water getting through the paper medium of a tractor filter. What solutions have you come up with for driving in the rain with this type of filter, could I make a custom box for it like on a 2nd gen air-raid kit? Thanks guys. :-laf
