And yet, STILL, most casually assume all these oppressive and draconian efforts and legislation on a W-I-D-E scope of issues is all simple coincidence and random chance...

Pointers have been posted MANY times here as to WHY these things are happening, WHO benefits, and what the ultimate goal is...

But in spite of all that info - and the daily STEADY erosion of our security and freedoms, our short-memory society continues to slowly shuffle along, only occasionally bleating in protest of some single isolated event that finally nudged THEIR specific sensitive spot - totally oblivious to the larger and darker picture steadily creeping across the USA and world...

YUP - I guess we fully DESERVE what we will most certainly inevitably GET...

.

But not as much as dirty, polluted air. I admit, I do not like emissions controls on my vehicles, but I leave them on for the same reason I recycle - those who come after me.

With 7 billion people on the planet, my opinion is we all need to do our share to pass something half decent on to the next generation - even if it robs my power and mpg... .

Just my $. 02

I second that opinion. I do my part everyday.

It's robbing future generations of FAR more than that - less energy for crop production, fertilizer, cultivation of food sources and to transport and process them, higher cost and availability of housing and clothing - as well as JOBS... .

All that, in the name of environmentalism to "protect" future generations?

We're only being exposed to the smaller picture here - and totally missing all the related fallout...

"Fallout" indeed. I will not argue that banning black paint is absolutely absurd. However, something concrete has pushed people to this absurdity. I have spent time in polluted areas and it drains my soul (not to be melodramatic).

Make no mistake, there is money and "research" on both sides of this argument. I know nothing of WHO contributions, but they cannot be any more influential than the money of "big oil". And why do we care about the Middle East so much?

Unfortunately topics like this inevitably end up being political. I will make a plea to us all not to be so concerned about political sides, rather be concerned about reasonableness and compromise. All too often we are being pushed to follow one side or another instead of asking both to do something that benefits most - a "most" that means something other than those with the "most" money.

Again, my $. 02

George Bush was sued by CARB and Gov. Arnold Meathead to have their own emission standard tighter than the Fed standard. CA lost the suit. Then the sheeple voted for Obama and now Obama overturned the law so CARB can do what they want. CA is comming to your STATE !

Wake Up America !
