[/QUOTE] Crown King is quite a nice place. Would be great to have good shocks for that run.

Yes, that back way up the hill definately tests your shocks. It's quite bouncy now

I have experience with 2 aftermarket shocks. The Rancho 5000's & 9000's. The 5000's were too stiff. The 9000's are adjustable @ the shock & I set them for the ride I want. They are simple to adjust & you can do the rears from the outside of the truck, easy reach. :) I tow a 5'er & it's a simple matter of cranking up the rears when I connect. :D

Must have missed something

Ok,,Short of starting a shock war,whats wrong with the Edelbrocks????,,I have had mine on now for near 15,000 miles and would not have anything else,,Their ride is second to none and the ability to do what you ask of them is unbelievable,,After having bad experiences with Runcho on a previous vechicle I owned I decided when mine needed shocks I would do something different,so Edelbrock it was,,Only shock I ever had that even came close to these was an old set of Rugged Trails on my old 440 truck years ago,,Your truck ,your choice.....

adjusting 9000's

Someone asked how hard it is to adjust the 9000's well for me it is real easy just reach over while traveling and adjust them where I want them, ha ha. The in cab control is real nice. Just a little humor. I think the shock preference is like alot of products personal opinion and past experience. Good luck in your decision... . :cool: :D :)

SteveAZ;

I'll give you 3 KYB Gas-a-Just stories.

I have them on my 97 2WD exended cab long bed. They are great with a load. I can porpoise down down the if empty. The ride is actually better now than a year ago when I installed them.

One friend has them on his 94 4WD std cab long bed. He loves them. He also has airbags when hauling the ccamper and towing the boat. I thought they rode very well, too.

Another friend has a 93 Ford 2WD extended cab long bed with a power stroke. The KYBs are not enough for the idiotic twin I-beam front suspension system. Too much moving mass. He's sorry he didn't go for Bilsteins.

The new Mono-Max is something to check out. It may rival the Bilstein.

How about you try them out and report back?

edit:

Forgot to include 4WD on middle story.

I have the Rancho RSX. it has a sensing valve to change to different conditions. so far they ride nice on road and off. .
