Pull-off = weight, tires, and a lot of technique. Doesn't directly equate to "power" - very "subjective" and "iffy". More Man against Man.

Trailer Pull on hill = raw useable HP. More Machine against Machine. And I might add, doing more what the trucks were designed to do. More emphasis on real-life performance with less variables such as tire pressure, weight, dirver technique

IF you don't have the technique down you could lose even if your rig is more powerful. If you want man against man, go for the pull. If you want truck vs truck, go for the steepest hill you can find - you'll plow him under!

Stop Watch - $5

Beer for the spectators - $40

Toasting him on VIDEO - Priceless :)

Save your equipment... Grab your camcorder, and head to a county fair in your area that is having a truck pull. Some farmers son will have dad's truck there trying to see what it's made of. In my area, the Cummins Rams open up the big jar of whoop a$$ on the Phords. After you get the video proof, you can play over and over until your Phord buddy understands that Cummins Rams are what rotate the earth.

funny thing about this topic

Just so happens I went out w/ a couple of old buddies tonight & one ownes an older crew cab psd & the other has a newer 1/2 ton 4x chev. Both think they are pretty hot **** & began bashing the new dodge. On the way to the next bar for food I showed them both what a 100ft black & grey smoke show looked like in thier headlights. We arrived at the bar & the question I had for them was ---"anyone ready for a pull off ?" All I got was HOLY Sh*t. I took it a little further & asked if I let both of them pull against me , would they ? Still NO WAY. I know most would say I would have lost, but I dont think so. Heres why, I would let that little 1/2 ton brake traction (if he even could) & my dumbass friend in the powerjoke would probably do the same. This of course is while Im holding my 4wdb to the floor. I suppose at the same time I could have 15lbs of boost stored up ready to pull down the street. Any bets ?

That's what my budds tell me

They are always wanting to take on the big ram with a 2 on one pulloff. ;) I tell them "no way" then I would have to tow 2 trucks home instead of one. :D But on the good side they could both cry on each other's shoulder. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Been there done that:D Buddy of mine had a gasser f-350 with 40" tires and wanted to hook up to my ram. He thought his big 460 was the sh**. It sure did look funny with his rear driveshaft and half the pinion bouncing off the ground. (had trouble seeing him through all my smoke though)Oo.
