Fundraising fundamentals?

this is a test

Last year I got a call from my CC company to inform me that nokia in Thialand tried to charge me $399. For what I don't know. The charges were blocked. It cost me 2 weeks without a CC.
I like the debit card because I do not have to leave my vehicle when fueling unless nature calls. LOL
It won't be long before paper checks will be a thing of the past. I know this because my wife works with the DAs office. They are seeeing almost no worthless checks being filed for claim.

You would think the first call I made would have been sufficient since I did inform them to expect many more fuel purchases to show up over the next 48 hours as I traveled across the country. "Thank you for being careful and watching out for my card. "

The second time was irritating to have to repeat myself.

The 3rd time was infuriating and I let 'em have it with both barrels.

Alright, NOW I'm getting REALLY pi$$ed!! I just checked my bank account, the same one I went in on Friday and cancelled my card and filled out all the paperwork for the ripoff theft of hundreds of dollars. I barely put enough money back into the account to cover an impending loan payment, which went through that same day. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the bank to return my money.

So I just went online to check the account and discover that the SAME freakin' place has hit the same freakin' account for another $300 putting me almost that much overdrawn!!!

How in the $%^& could the bank possibly let it happen again?!!! And only two days later?!!! And by the same place on some foreign island:

"SNCF INTERNET LOC: ISLES LES ME LFR".

And my card is supposedly cancelled!!!

Looks like I'll be standing at the bank door when they open in the morning and I will CLOSE ALL of my remaining accounts. This is just ridiculous...

that figures... "SNCF" is some french train system according to google. There's a google hit for "Isle" part, too, but I can't read the language. Someone's charging tickets to my account. Using my CANCELED debit/visa card. Yeah, like I'm really in europe somewhere... blasted french anyway... and my lousy bank is apparently letting it go through again!! #@$%!

Scott...

My girlfriend just had her card hit a week ago by someone in England trying to buy $200 worth of Pizza. Funny thing we were both at a local motorcycle show when the card company called her to ask if she was trying to make those purchases. As she spoke rather loudly to the CS Rep she informed them she was in Maryland and NOT in the UK so that pizza was going to be really cold till she got it. card Company closed her account completely and sent a new card and account out to her. So we feel your pain on the bull crap thats going on right now ourselves.

The local news sources ran a story this past week about a vunerability in the newest IE and a hole the hackers can get into your system on and Microsoft has yet to issue a fix or a patch on it. They have advised for people to switch to one of the other safer browsers when doing anything online with a credit card or banking.

That got me thinking as she does alot more on her computer with IE than I do and we are on the same network, except I use FireFox and I had no issue. Not sure if it helped me at all but she now has gone away from using IE at all and does not want any part of it at all.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes and I hope they get your account fixed up... ... Andy

Hey Andy, I like her quick comeback about all the cold pizza. I'm finding it isn't easy to keep a sense of humor when this happens. My computer that died from a 2nd motherboard failure a couple weeks ago was set up with Internet Explorer as the default. I used to use Firefox exclusively, but one day several months ago Firefox crashed that computer and I've never been able to run it successfully since.

This older laptop, belonging to my teenager, is set up with Firefox and seems to run fine. I like everything about Firefox better except the bookmarks system, which doesn't make much sense to me, probably just because I'm not used to it.

I'm a bit perplexed about how this could have been repeated so soon despite the card being canceled. I caught the first scam within an hour of it happening and while it was still a "preauthorization" but it still went through despite my timely trip and notification to the bank. This time, I not only got hit with a $300 charge on an account with only a couple dollars left in it, but I also got hit with an additional "$2. 98 foreign transaction fee" just to add insult to injury. I can't wait to see the bank try to charge me for an overdraft, too. It's seems quite clear to me the banker was wrong and I need to close the entire bank account; not just cancel the card.

One thing about cash: I can guard it with my CCW permit and . 40 cal Glock! A bank account is apparently a wide-open unguarded place. Who needs a mask and getaway car anymore. . ?

That figures, too... it's a holiday so the bank is closed. I wonder how many times these guys are going to hit my account before that banker-dude does what he said and actually kills that card I turned in on Friday? He probably just left it in his IN basket to deal with on Tuesday... Meanwhile my account is getting raped! Too bad for the bank and Visa; I did all I can.

Since the town cops didn't want to take the report, and since the banker said I did not need to file one, I called the sheriff's office anyway and a deputy stopped by the house and made a report this morning after my plans to visit the bank again failed. Ironically, his wife works for that same bank.

He said the bank might not require me to file a report and may even tell me it doesn't matter and don't bother, but he knows for a fact that Visa definitely wants a police report, so its a good thing I called them. A cup of coffee and some chat about cyber crooks, John Deeres, farming, and diesels later I felt a little better. We've got some pretty good deputies around here. This one still farms with his dad, something that's getting rare: young folks carrying on the family farm. I thought I knew most of the deputies around here but this one was new to me. We hit it off well.
