J.C. Whitney tailgate cables

They are too long. Tailgate wont sit flush with bed.

They do not have a safety clip to keep cable from unhooking itself .

The swivel end that mounts on gate must be bent for gate to close properly.

Guess I got what I paid for

Good warning

When mine broke I replaced them with 1/8'' stainless steel cable from the hardware store. Made a loop on each end with crimp sleeves also from the hardware store. No safety clip but they haven't come off even once. Probably cost me as much as JC charges just for postage on a pair.
