Competition auto trans blankets????

Competition Who's coming out to the DHRA hook in Gaston tomorrow?

Dyno for sure and possible test and tune Friday June 15th. Dyno, Drags, Sled Pull and Show and Shine Saturday June 16th. So far thats as much as I know.

For the Tough Truck Competition anything goes, highest total points wins. For the drags and sled pulls and the Dyno it's classes as usual. One other thing that has changed is Reddings new track manager is not going to let anything slide, helmets are going to be checked, windshields can't have any chips cracks etc. any use of nitrous requires a jacket meeting SFI Spec 3. 2A/1. Refer to 2007 NHRA Rulebook pg 25 for protective clothing, pg 236 for helmets, Crankshaft center line must not exceed 36" from the ground for trucks running 12. 00 and slower; 31" for trucks running 11. 99 to 10. 00; and 24" for trucks running 9. 99 seconds and quicker. refer to pg 201 for Crankshaft rules.

I know that there will be no tire and weight changes for the Tough Truck Competition, but will any other changes be allowed, such as bolting on longer bump stops for sled pulling?

If you want to run longer bump stops in the sled pulls, then you will have to run them on the track and the dyno

Thats completely stupid. I can tell you guys dont truck pull on a regular basis!

Well youre right. I drag race on a regular basis and just got into sled pulling last season and I have only pulled about 5 times, so I am still learning. I made a set of bump stops that give me 2" of travel in the rear, for the street class, which many people recommend. That is why I asked my previous question, care to educate me?

Update

There is also going to be a Powder Puff sled pull, How many of you brave souls will let your wives or girlfriends pull your trucks?

Amen. Someone let them know some of us run completely adjustable stops so our trucks are still street freindly.

Drugs are allowed? Oh well; thought it was a tough truck competition not a ricer tuner challenge.

rules is rules... ... ... they allow drugs in the racing and dyno, so it just makes sense that they are allowed in the sled pulling also----chris

You have to allow drugs so the Fords and Chevys can play. :D

How many of you are planning to compete in the tough truck challange? Anybody think they have what it takes to give Nick, Doug, Bondo or TJ a run for the money

"all smoke and going no-where red" will be there---when I made my bump stops 3-4 yrs ago I made them adjustable, so as long as it's ok to screw them up out of the way I'm good to go, if not then yikes I have a decision to make---no stops or 2" travel----now for what tires to run and to get her put back together----chris

Is Chris the only one out there that wants to come see how they'd fare against the guys from Diesel Power Challange?

"they are going to work on is seeing if the winner can get a place in this years Diesel Power Challange"

"Winning this event is not an official invite to DPC, but might look good on your application"

Don't take this the wrong way, but you haven't promised anything to sombody to make them want to put there truck through the riggers of a tough truck compition. Any pay outs for the regular sled pull guy's? :D
