difference in brake controllers ?

I am relatively new too this big of trailer. It is a 32' enclosed with tandem 6k axles. Will a regular truck jack be sufficient in case of a blowout? Moving to NM (1550 mi. ) Don't want to be caught short handed on anything.

By the way the trailer will be right at max gross weight.

I bought a 4 ton bottle jack from an auto parts store for just this purpose (about $16). You can put the jack under just one axle so you don't have to lift the entire side of the rig.

I use a bottle jack also. I think it's a 10 ton. Got it at Harbour Freight, and it didn't cost much more than the light duty ones.

One more thing.........

You might want to look at the "shorty" bottle jacks. This depends on how low your trailer sets. I keep a short and regular 12-ton in the tool box. Both have the screw out tops. Have been on the side of the road with a load of gravel in a dump trailer and blew out tire. Decided it is better to be over prepared, than under prepared. Take it for what it's worth.

Works good on my 12,000+ fifth wheel. You can always put

a few 2x6 boards under one,if it's too short but, sometimes

it's impossible to put a regular size jack under a trailer

after a tire has blown out.

Just my . 02 cents.

I've had a few blowouts or flats, you just pull the trailer up onto blocks (2X6 or better) with the good set. The rest are off the ground, I've never needed a jack.
