I just got back from the Hill climbs in Jackson WY. Awesome. Pure awesome. My first hill climb. 200 plus horse out of a sled is not uncommon in the unlimited class. I’ll post some pics when I get them scanned.

Anyway…. There was an outfit out of Rapid, SD with a bunch of BD performance stuff there. I was able to play with the cutaway model of the BD exhaust brake. I was impressed. What do you guys that have this brake think? They had a show price that I thought was a heck of a deal but didn’t jump on it. 550 plus tax. If I’m not supposed to post prices, someone keep me in line. Anyway, I just wondered what people thought that are running the BD and where that price falls.

Thanks

Jason

Ps – the bully dog guy was there – propane and nitrous and some really cool mods. He said 600 + horse without the N2.

I've had one for a few miles now, saves the brakes thats for sure, enjoyed mine from the first day. :D

$550... That's the best price I've heard.

Downside, it could get in the way of future performance mods.

Dave O -

I still have a lot to learn about the exhaust brake concept, but could you help me understand how they could get in the way of future mods? thanks bro

That is a heck of a price. I talked to a guy over the weekend that had one installed and he paid over a grand for his plus the install.

Had my BD exhaust brake on for 1 year now and love it. Wouldn't trade it for any other brake on the market. That price you quoted is about equal to what you can get it for at the BD Dyno Days after the US/Can exhange rate and Border Duty refund, which is the best deal around that I could find.

It might get in the way of a 4" exhaust or a bigger turbo depending on how and where it mounts...

My Dad has has a pac brake on his 98. 5 since it was new and loves it, but he just tows his 5ver around and is not a BOMBer (yet).

By the way. . I would love to see the pic from the hill climb...

John and everybody,

the hillclimb was sweet. I should have some photos back by Friday and more to come. They climb a long STEEP dang hill. hopefully my pics will be more than just a spec on a white background.

Thanks for everybody's info on the BD-brake. i'll put it on my list of must haves right next to my injectors...

later

Jason

That is a heck of a good price. Do you remember the company? I am planning on buying a bd, but they want $990 for one locally. Any input to a lower price would help.
