Jacobs brake now available for 2006 RAM

I am reading info that Jacobs exhaust brake is now compatible with 2004. 5 - 2006 CTDs. Looks like Dodge has done their homework and modified computer programming and transmission.

Doesn't look like they are saying its for a 2004. 5-2005 auto. (Yet?) I hope they get there someday.

2004. 5-2006 is for the manual trans and 2006 is for the auto and manual trans. Part #'s are different for 2006 because it can be ordered through cummins and DC(which is installed at the dealership after the ordered truck shows up)

Sorry but thats the way it reads to me.

The 2003-2004 brake has a part #4089427

The 2004. 5-2006 brake has a part#4955192 which will also fit the 2006 auto trans.

I believe there is a thrust washer in the 48re that cannot take the abuse of the ebrake in the 2004. 5-2005 and also the ecm isn't big enough to hold the programing to prevent damage to thrust washer. but it has all been fixed in the 2006 trans. The brake will work in all the 3rd gen manuals. Hopefully somone will come up with a box that will hold the info the brake needs so it can be installed on 04. 5-05.
