I have the Jacobs Exhaust brake on my truck. I bought the PacBrake shifter switch & want to install it, but the wiring for the two brakes is a little different. I read through some previous posts, but didn't fing anything applicable with what I am doing.
The Jacobs brake uses 4 wires from the switch & the PacBrake uses 3 wires. I have figured out what to do with the ECM & ground wires. I think the switched on (ignition hot) wire is for the switch light on either switch.
I get lost with the solenoid wire. The Jacobs runs a separate from the switch, & on the PacBrake in appears to be tied to the ECM wire before it gets to the switch.
My initial plans were to run the PacBrake switch only, & save the Jacobs switch for when the PacBrake switch breaks. I changed out the Jacobs wiring quick disconnect & have a spare disconnect that I can use with the PacBrake switch. Can I install a jumper wire from the ECM wire to the solenoid wire on the switch side of the disconnect?
OR
How would I wire the PacBrake switch as an inline on say the solenoid wire & still use the Jacobs switch as the master?
Please Help, I'm tired of reaching down low to the jacobs switch.
