Valve adjust on 3rd Gen...

2004 Lift Pump Question

... tonight on the way home from the track my brake would not always disengage when I would hit the go pedal. Sometimes it would, other times no. Almost seems like the valve is bound , but I just sprayed the assembly down with P oil not too long ago, so I would think that is not the problem, any one with any ideas, will look closer at it tomorrow after work,( or maybe even during work) !

How is your vacuum pump working? Any problems with a loose belt? I'm just trying to give you places to start and I am NOT an expert at all with E-brakes.

Look for corrosion at the connections made to the ECM wires. My dealer used wire taps and due to corrosion I had to rework the connections myself. The other item would be the vacuum solenoid itself sticking in the "on" or vacuum position.

Also check the solenoid valve that mounts to your passenger battery tray. If that gets sticky, it won't allow the vacuum to open up quick enough and delay opening the actuator (exhaust valve).

Pump appears to be doing its thing, and all hoses appear to be in great shape. Playing around tonight it seems like the switch always lets the valve turn off and on like it should at idle , didn;t miss once. On the go however when it acts up,( when I hit the go pedal) it appears I have to let up on the pedal then nail it again, and most of the time it will shut off, not always though! If it stays on no amount of throttle feed will make it shut off, watched my EGT's climb like no tomorrow. Noticed the 2 wires tied into the computer on the side of the engine, will look closely at these tomorrow and see if I can somehow clean up their connections seeing as how I drove through quite a bit of nasty wintry weather less then 2 weeks ago. Maybe some salt spray and who knows what else got in there somehow!
