Has anyone with the Jacobs E-brake noticed how much the exhaust whistles when idling with the more open pipes? I just replaced my old magnaflow with a silverline and it sounds worse than before. Has anyone found a way to tame it down without too much restriction? Lastly, do the other brands do the same thing?

Thanks,

Dave

Is it really that bad? My exhaust system is stock, and I love that sound, especially when some snooty jerk next to me looks at my truck with disdain, while he/she is on their cell phone!:D:D:D

I have never had a Jacobs, but I had a Banks and now a PacBrake. Both did sort of whistle noise at idle. Other trucks that I have listened too, with who knows what kind of brake, sort of whistled also.

Hard to say really, but maybe there is a leak in the exhaust pipe from the new install. I would crawl under there and have a look for leaks. If not, then I would likely consider the noise normal.
