Where is the best place to purchase? I've called the mopar4less guys and they quoted $607 excluding shipping. I've seen better pricing than this on the forums. I have not called the local dealer yet, but will tomorrow. Just checking.

I'm leaning towards the Jacobs because of the delay before engaging which I THINK I'd like for shifting. Other than that, I think I'd get the BD. Is there any way to devise a delay in the BD?

Thanks,

Chris

The delay is controlled by the ECM—pin #20 of the ECM has +12 volts present about 1. 5 seconds after the throttle is released.

If the BD solenoid can be activated by this 12 volt signal (and not fry the ECM) then you could probably have the delay with the BD brake. Try searching—this concept was discussed here in the past.

Thanks!

Thanks for the good advice everyone. Called Mechanicsville today and ordered it. Just like you said $540 + shipping. The local dealer wanted $675!! Wow, what a deal:rolleyes:

Thanks again,

Chris

Service!

Sorry to bring this back to the top, but I just had to comment on Mechanicsville's service. I ordered the Ebrake about 2:00 pm yesterday. It was on my front porch by 10:00 am this morning. I know I live within 300 miles of them, but that is still good service to get it out the door same-day.

Just a plug for them. It is good to spread good news occasionally.

Jacobs ebrake

Chris

I think I would stick with the Jacobs if you want to hook into the ECM on your new truck. E-mail me with a fax number and I'll send you the wiring diagram and parts list to hook up a shift mounted control button. I'll be on the road again this weekend, so it will be next week before I can get back to you.
