Well I was just about to order my new 5in exhaust. It is a 4in downpipe to 5in straight pipe. I am hopin that it will make this Jake Brake sound a little more like a real one! Anyone else ever put 5in straight pipe on one of these new trucks? How dose it sound? Let me know before I go and buy it. Thanks in Advance!

the down pipes on the most the aftermarket systems are 4". you can use a remote mount 4" exhaust brake on them, or if you plain on having the stock turbo for a long time, you can get the turbo mount versions and the aftermarket exhaust systems should all bolt to that just fine.

The sound you hear from the big trucks is an engine brake... . this is a special set of rockers installed on the head of the engine... and the engine we have in our trucks won't handle the assembly... . so the sound from an exhaust brake will never be the same from an engine brake..... The engine brake allows the exhaust valve to remain closed and than once the energy is absorbed the exhaust valve is popped open to release the pressure and the process starts all over again...

The loud sound that you do hear from these engines is because of the type of muffler the truck doesn't have... .

We are a Pac Brake Distributor and I can offer you a PacBrake inline brake that will fit either your 4" or 5" exhaust... .

Or the kit for the 04. 5 is a larger elbow and larger outlet... . more flow and more HP.....

Talk to one of the vendors of exhaust... and see what their doing for the 04. 5

If you have any additional questions either post them or drop me a note... .
