Jake Brake for '05 Automatic?

Could someone tell me if the jake brake is for the '06 automatics only or for '03 - '06 autos? I have been searching the internet and have been getting conflicting info.

06 only at this time. A software change to the ECM might allow it on the 05's, but no commitment that it will ever happen. No way on anything earlier than 05's (from Dodge). Welcome to the TDR.

Not for the 2005 Auto's, I have one installed because the dealer told me it would work on my truck and after installing it they called me and said it would not work on the Auto Trans, now am hoping Cummins and Dodge will take pitty on me and others that would like to have it and get the software out for it.

I think in the issue of the TDR magazine prior to the latest issue, they spelled out the exact changes in the auto transmission and why the exhaust brake wasn't compatiable with the transmission. I know the earlier years it was much more than software as they put an additional coating on the some of the thrust washers or somethin' like that in the newer models. I think the 05 may just be a software issue though like mpwalker said.
