My current switch is a push/pull type and it's on its last leg, sometimes it works sometimes it don't. I would like to replace it with a more appealing switch. How can I find one like this? Any ideas?

That looks similar to the one that came with my Jake from the dealer. Although my truck is an auto, I'm fairly certain the floor shift uses the same switch. You could order one from them or check the Jacobs brake website.

Are you sure its the switch? Is it such that you could check out it guts to see if it shot? Just some suggestions.

Good luck.

Mine is just a after market type like this that I put together and it rattled so I made it a little stiffer so it wouldn't make the racket internally.

MLee,

I think it's the switch. I can't seem to get the brake to disengage with the switch. Works fine when I push on the accelerator pedal although it seems to take a little longer to let go. What else could it be? It is hooked into the ECM per the instructions, could it be there or the small assembly thats on the firewall? Thought I would try the switch first, the one I posted looks better than mine anyway.

i bought my e brake switch from genos and it is working fine ,i have used it 3 yrs . it mounts in the center of the gear shift knob

I tried to get one of the Jacobs Stalk Switches (shown in your picture) from Cummins West and they said it was discontinued. Found one at Hoesli Diesel but they no longer have it either. The Cummins part # is 4089657, Mopar part # is 05102082AB III. Try locating one at a Dodge dealer or Cummins dealer in your area. You might find one that hasn't been sold. Hope this helps.

I used the pac-brake switch that goes on the stick. It has a bracket & a led light switch. I spliced into the power wire with quick disconnects, prior to the jacobs switch mounted low on the dash. Works great & if you need a replacement Autozone has the switch for $4. 00.

This is my Jake switch. . It has a light in it that has since burned out but the switch still works... Can't remember where I got it. . if anyone recognizes who would have this, speak up.

Eric's switch looks like an pac-brake switch, I think it's a little older than mine. Mine came with an led light in the black switch.

Mine gave trouble a long time ago. A connection in the switch came loose. I did a McIver fix until I got a new one through the dealer.

When I installed my exhaust brake last spring I purchased an Eaton split axle switch off the web. I cost me around six dollars from the company that makes the switches - Cole Hersee Co. . I made the aluminum split bar that goes around the switch and the shift lever out of a couple pieces of aluminum square stock that I drilled and tapped to join together. Probably cost me around $15, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than the BD, PacBrake, or Jacobs folks were asking for the same switch. Personally, I like the "split axle" style shifter switch for looks and convenience, and have installed them in all my trucks that had ebrakes.
