Has anyone installed the Jacobs exhaust brake Mopar # 82209823 on their Dodge? I am wanting to have it installed on my 06 3500 DRW Mega (once the alternator problem is fixed) and would like to ask if you have had it installed, would you please send or post pics of the switch mounted on the shifter? Curious on how that is going to look.

Thanks,

Tony

Longevity of the pump is the wink link. the stock belt can be use when it fails. the Pump can lockup and destroy the belt or just stop working altogether, I would be surprise to see if anyone has more than 150k on any Pump. it also does not Like extreme sub-0 temps.

You might consider the PacBake with the electric air compressor... . comes with a tank and air hose for small tires..... than you can add air horns, and air bags... .

You can find more about the pacbrake unit at www.pacbrake.com and they have photos of the brake and shifter switch... . search for C44045... . thats the kit you'd need... ...

I have the Pacbrake, I drove a Jake Brake and thought that the Pacbrake did a better job of holding the truck back. Also liked the idea of on board air. Installation was easy, but it took me a little longer than advertised because I'm anal about running wires, like to hid them the best I can, and getting the exhaust lined up was a trip, ended up using a jack to get the down pipe into position.

Guys,

SWEET. . looks great and thanks for the input. I have found a great price (I hope) for the entire Mopar package. The price I've been given is $892. 00 shipped to my door. What do you think?

I'll stay with my stealth E-Brake switch and Geno's Cup Smoothie. :D

My 06 has the Jake brake Installed by the dealer

:D :D I play with it a lot. Last week when I pulled the car trailer I used it and do kike it. I read pros and con about it but that normal I guess. I ordered my truck and when it cam in I went down to the dealership to see what they were doing to it. They told me it was in the shop getting the Jake brake installed/ I did not order it but I kept my mouth shut. The deal was made. Then they were putting running boards on so I told them to keep up the good work. The service mgr. said it would be a couple of days before they would have my truck ready. I told him that OK. I think they got my truck order mixed up a bit but I did not complain. They put a hood scoop on,runnings boards,Jake Brake, camper top so when I went down to get it they ask me if I was happy. YES I said.
