Ever since I had the mopar/jacobs exhaust brake installed, it seems I have lost a few hp. I know a few HP is not something obvious you can feel, however in the higher rpm ranges its more obvious. Is this possible or is it just in my head? Also, I had the dealer install my exhaust brake and I have never really payed attention to it, but does it repalce the portion of the stock down pipe? In other words, if i wanted, say, a banks exhaust, would their 4 in dp be useless?

Thanks,

Dave

FDavid,

THe Ex Brake does in fact replace the elbow at the back of the turbo, so yes the Banks would not work completly. Also yes you did lose about 5 hp, you are now spining an extra pully to an extra compresor. The only thing I dont know is how much power is lost from if any by the flapper in the exhust stream. I would think it would have to have some affect the air is leaving the turbine at 120,000 rpm going 2" and the spin is stopping. Seat of the pants feel on mine is not much loss under 2900 rpm but it just noses over at 2900 where is use to pull good to 3100 then nose over.
