Well, I don't want to say because I never owned Don's injectors. I would love to run a set!

I can say that *if* I bought another set of Jammers I would probably go straight to Jammer 5's. The 4's were so civil that I can confidently say that you could run 5's for everyday empty driving. As it is now, I drive my Supermentals 110 miles per day, so my truck gets driven. Its not a lot of miles, but enough to be real world experience.

Then again, I don't tow so I don't have to look at my EGT gauge much. Those guys can guide you better than me.

I guess the bottom line for my experience is that my Jammers were so much cleaner and had so much more low end than the same size honed injector that I would imagine the Mach injectors are relatively close in performance. I am not saying one is better than the other, but in fact one must be better because they are different injectors. All I am saying is that the difference between the same hp jammers and mach injectors would not be as big as the difference between the same hp edms (jammers or mach series) and honed injectors. I think the area under the curve with EDMs is where it is all at for me and that is the big difference over honed injectors. Mainly because that is where I drive 99. 5% of the time. WOT is rare for me.

Just my $. 02

Scott,

sorry for the late reply.

For MPG i was at about 16. 5 to 17 stock. depending on winter/summer fuel... ... .

Anyway, with just stage II honed injectors I went to about 18 average, maybe 18. 5 on a good day.

The Jammer 4's yielded a consistent 19. 5 mpg or better. My best was 24+ through Ohio. Just a bit more flat than south western PA!

Now the supermentals do about 19.

This is mostly highway, about 1900-2000 rpm daily driving.

Basically, I have run the same set of tires through the injector changes, so the #'s are very accurate.

Not saying your truck will do the same, but that is my experience.

Put your fut in it and its all over! I also found that anything over 2000 rpm or so will KILL my mileage.

The edms will be a lot cleaner and give a little better mileage. I could pull out pretty darn quick in traffic with jammer 4's and not leave even a puff. Very tough to do with metals.

Your auto will be a lot more forgiving of the "hammering" i was talking about earlier with cruise control. If I were you I would definately do EDMs, you just have to decide which ones :D . That's supposed to be the easy part! Scraping the money together is supposed to be the hard part!

tell me about it!! i have been looking hard at injectors and the money thing is what makes the jammers so attractive! i also am discouraged by the fact that i cant do injectors until i do a turbo :{ but hopefully soon. great thread!

Yes the money is one thing but getting something what you want instead of something someone wants to sell you makes all the difference

i don't mind spending money on something good

Jason

thanks for all your help!!!

just a bit O info as to towing

never owned Don's EDM's yet but will someday soon. .

Towing with the Jammer 5's, they are a good stick but a bit smokey [enough that your 5er interior cabinets will have soot on the dishes and food stuffs . . sorry honey] yes you can drive with them but IMHO you are asking too much from your rig to have that much HP and tow a heavy 5er out in ruralville not to big a deal, but when in traffic and town not very easy to get to speed without giving those behind ya a fairly good cloud.

very hard to have a play day type of injector and a towing one all in one again MHO only

I am not a big tow guy maybe 4000lb loaded including the trailer with

bikes or sleds i may tow it 8 time a year most of the time is in the winter with the sleds, but now the wife is going to order a new 06 mega cab CTD, so we'll use her truck for the toys :-laf
