I called Janetty about their block that goes in the trani line and was told that it has 1/2" inlets with a 3/8" NPT section for the sensor. He also said it is about 1/2" deep at the T which is where the sensor would go.

There are two sensor choices, 3/8" and 5/8" length and they both have 1/8" NPT threads which means I will have to use an adapter to screw it in and this is going to lift the sensor to the point that it may not be down inside the line enough to pickup the real fluid temp.

Anyone who has used this block, could you tell me what length sensor worked for you and did you have to use adaptors? Also is the trani fluid line 1/2" diameter?

Thanks.

The T goes on the line easy with the supplied hardware. if you install it on the hot line on the vertical part on the right side of the engine, right under the heat exchanger, you'll have plenty of room even if you need a bushing. As far as temp goes I woulnd't worry about the sensor being "in" the line, temp difference will be insignificant.

I started with that manifold too and ended up like most, buying the 95 cooler line with the port built in. it works OK but the chances of it leaking are far greater if not installed perfectly. My advice is skipt this step and buy the cooler line, cheaper that way and you'll only install it once.

FWIW,

Glenn
