Anybody have their 4" system with exhaust with flow through muffler? I am not looking for noise. In actuality I hate the loud BUZZZ that appears to be the norm with aftermarket exhaust.

I had one on my '99. It was of good quality but did produce that buzz you speak of due to the straight through design with holes inside I supppose. I rode in a stock '01 recently and remarked to the driver how much quieter it was. I'm running a stock exhaust with Shuttleworth diesel muffler from Orange Muffler on my '07. Great setup for me.

Stock is ok but I am trying to cool my egt's a little and am hoping that by going up to a full 4" and eliminating rezonator I can accomplish that.

Talk to the company you are thinking of nuying the kit from. Ask them if there has been any complaints for the buzzing sound.

I "should" see a couple hundred degrees cooler egt's when pulling uphill shouldn't I? I rarely pull really heavy but right now I have been up to the 1350 mark a time or two while on long grades at 75mph with the cruise set.

Maybe I am expecting too much?? That can't be true.....

I bought my system in March of 02 and it's still there. I did ad a resonator style muffler to quiet it down. EGT's were lowered but not 200, maybe 75-100 degrees. DWest

I installed Jerry's 5" system over 2 years ago on mine. There is a NOTICEABLE increase in the in-cab noise while cruising on the highway. Overall, I feel it is a very good system for the money.

I have had the Jardine system on my truck since 2001 (2001. 5 truck), I can't speak to the EGT, I added the guage after the exhaust. It sounds good, and I don't notice any buzz, BUT it has been so long since stock, I probably don't notice any "extra" noise.

The muffler on mine is a MagnaFlow, I assume Jardine still uses the same, but don't really know.

I like the sound, other than that, I don't know if it does me any good or not.

I have had both a Diamond Eye exhaust and an MBRP on my trucks. The Diamond Eye produced a pretty bad drone at about 2000 rpm and was LOUD (a good loud-but irritating when towing under heavy loads), the MBRP is a lot quieter and does not have the drone or buzz on my 02.

THe MBRP does have a muffler and its packed with glass fiber similar to a glasspack design of yesteryear. Really cuts down on the irritating harmonics/drone. The Diamond eye has a muffler also but has no packing.

i have one of their exhaust and i hate it. i have been waiting for 5 months to get the tail pipes that they shorted me when my exhaust came!! #@$%!

I know Banks isn't a favorite company on this forum but I have their exhaust system & the muffler does not drone at all. Here is what they say about it: "... a polished-stainless Monster muffler, featuring a straight-through 4"-diameter flow-path with a Banks-designed expansion chamber to dissipate the annoying mid-range exhaust drone that plagues most straight-through mufflers. "

Turbos dont like more back pressure in the exhaust system (adding a muffler), the more free flowing the exhaust the better, at least on gas car. I'm sure it applies to diesel as well.

I have the MBRP and haven't had a real big difference in noise. Another option on lowering egt's is replacing the stock elbow between the elbow after the turbo. The one I went with is Banks, I suppose other companies have aftermarket. When I installed it, I installed it with 4" back, so I can't tell exactly what it did, but, I do know that I stay 150 deg. cooler with the whole setup.
