Anybody know where the fuse box is on a JD 4430? I lost all cab power...

The curcuits are found under the dash on the Left side. Remove the steering cover to gain access. I got the manual out, quote "The circuit breakers will reset themselves, but only after the load is removed. A heater element keeps the breaker tripped as long as the load is connected". It goes on to say "To reset a breaker, turn off the switches for all circuits connected to that breaker. (If it's one of the breakers connected to the Sound-Gard Body, turn off the key switch. ) Wait at least two minutes before trying the circuit again. " If this doesn't reset the breaker, disconnect the battery ground cable for at least two minutes. If the breaker does not reset itself, then the breaker is defective. If it does reset check carefully for a short circuit in the wiring. I hope that helps.

Thanks guys

I now know where the plugs for the cab power are, thanks to the diagram. And I know why they came on for awhile the other day on their own (breaker reset no doubt). Now I just have to find the short, disc the rest of 80 acres, and find a way out of this farming job...

I was having some issues awhile back on my 4430 with something shorting or not turning off draining the batts. The Lead service guy told me to check the R/H battery side just behind the cab cover plate behind the battery. There is a wire that runs up under the cab that can be your problem. Just remember, they may not know it but someone out there is able to feed thier face because of people like you. Good Luck!

Still no go...looking...

The Lead service guy told me to check the R/H battery side just behind the cab cover plate behind the battery. There is a wire that runs up under the cab that can be your problem. Just remember, they may not know it but someone out there is able to feed thier face because of people like you. Good Luck!

Day before yesterday it quit, I did a full service on it that day and tucked a dead end piece of shrinkwraped wire away to the side of the fuel filters so I didn't have to work through them. Then yesterday I got out to do a walk around check at mid day and noticed those wires hanging over the filters again. Went to move it and it was red hot. I disconnected a resister that was tied in under the melted shrink wrap. Got twelve volts to one side, so tried to hook it all up again, nothing. I don't know if that was the problem or not, will check again next week. Got my boss is ripping the remainder of the north field today, I will probably get roped into discing it next week.



He is a good friend, I am supposed to be retired, oh well. . Haven't done this since I was a kid, I can remember it taking a friend and I two weeks on 9 Ns to disc eighty acres though! I just finnished that in three days. Even without air and a tight cab, still a luxury compared to that... This is all going to be alfalfa and grass, was in rough wheat. It is all for the cows... BEEF it is what I am having for supper!
