RPM's- What is considered bogging?

2.69 a gallon

Looks like they are ready if problems arise with cummins :( I like the fact that the VR640ohv Is badged with detroit diesel across the valve covers. If they do switch someday :{ I wonder how many of us will stay with dodge. The good thing is they can sell the engine to ford add to corporate profit. I must also say I dislike the "V" configeration.

No Way BABY regarding Peugeot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Mercedes, VW, Peugeot, and many, many more LIGHT diesels use aluminum heads with great longevity and durability. (My VW has 300K on a virgin motor) I think that you are confusing the motor in the CRD with a N14 Cummins, or even the B in your truck. It is a car, not a truck. Aluminum will be just fine in this application. "

I had 4 Peugeot Diesels (504's and one 604) - WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK!!!!!!!!!!! Lomg Life - BS - I couldn't get 100,000 out of any of em and expense - brother!!! Glow plugs (Bosch) were always going south - and with one out they were very hard to start - 2 out - you're walking! I had one develope a HOLE in the Head and it squirted water like a leaky garden hose - Had to get a new head! Now maybe somebody can make AL work - but Peugeot couldn't in the late 70's and 80's! Everybody should own at least 1 French Car - just to make you stop complaining about American cars!

Do you think the metallurgy technology has improved over the last 25 years? Maybe the chemistry of the coolant? Did you reference the 25 year old diesels available in the US as a comparison when you bought your CTD?

IMHO: apples and oranges comparison.

The internals of my CTD is for the most part 25+ year old technology! Oh and BTW - I used PEUGEOT Antifreeze - great stuff huh!
