i hve two questions...

Who makes Chevy injection pump

I makes no sense to me that DC would not get this vehicle certified in all 50 states!

By excluding the "green" states they loose access to 22% of this country's populations.

While I don't know the numbers, I would bet that these states also have a higher percentage of SUV's.

Man this makes me mad. I WANTED ONE OF THESE.

That's exactly what I was thinking... they're also excluding some of the areas where people's commutes are some of the longest and congested as well.

It was said a while back in the thread that since it's a smaller SUV - emissions are a little tougher. I'd venture to guess that the CRD is just a tad high on NOX...

Hmmmm.

Vermont - Lots of snow.

Maine - A fair amount of snow

Mass. - A fair amount of snow

NY (upstate) - Lots of snow (Syracuse is at 182 inches this year)

Calif. - Snow in the mountains.

These are perfect markets for this vehicle.

Anyway, maybe I'll be able to convince my wife that she'd really rather have a Ram 2500, Short box, 2wd, auto, with a Cummins 600

:D

I won't be seriously in the market until next spring so hopefully they'll get a better Cat on this thing to make it 50 legal.

Liberty CRD Engine

does anybody know more details about the engine - who makes it, compression ratio, head & block materials, etc. ? Haven't read any details on it, other than its a DOHC common rail.

VM Motori

The engine(S) is(are) made by VM Motori here in Italy.

Not too far from my home.

Actually the Liberty ( Cherokee here in Europe ) can be had with two different engines 2. 5L and 2. 8L.

The reason DCX uses VM engines is due to the fact that MB has an 2. 2L 4 cyl engine which is to small for that kinda vehicle or an 2. 7L 5 Cyl ( same as found in the Sprinter) which is to long for the Liberty's engine bay. So they went with VM Motori again...

fueled up last night diesel $1. 67 , 87 octane was $1. 75. passing another station on the way diesel @ $1. 80 ,87 @ $1. 88 with 93 @ $1. 98

Last week, diesel 2. 039, gas 2. 009, I think they are jacking up the price of diesel to give the gassers a break.

Can't wait to see what some people do to bomb these little boogers. I can see it now. Twins (with a hole cut in the hood to because of space) stacks coming up behind the rear doors with a huge cloud of black smoke pouring out from the monster injectors and tapped pump wire. Your kids would love for mom to pick them up from soccer practice in this rig!

Bombing the Liberty

First a good software in the ECM. Then intake and exhaust...

After that... injectors?

Well I would not get too excited that engine has a cooled EGR on it... .

Can you say plugged?

I've asked arround a little here about the MPG. The 2. 8L get's better MPG than the 2. 5L. All city they get arround 20-22. Mixed

23-25. All highway at our speed limit (80 MPH) they seem to get

arround 30.

Not too bad in my book.
