If you're into usenet, try rec. autos. makers. jeep+willys

Moab isn't too far away for you--find your way down there some weekend. The Red Rock 4-Wheelers run their trail-of-the-month the Saturday & Sunday after the first Monday of every month. The club phone is 435-259-ROCK.

The problem with pirate is you have to dig through 500 posts worth of crap to find one informative message... then 500 more posts of crap.

If you're trying to figure out how much A/S you are going to get out of your proposed link configuration, fine. If you are looking for some people to go have some casual runs with, check the other boards mentioned (except ihatemud.com..... it's ih8mud.com, and it's a land cruiser board (I have met some of them, and were all fine folks... despite them not owning jeeps... . )

There was a formal 4x4 club in Craig, Colorado, but due to a slumping economy in Moffat County it died due to lack of interest. I believe there is an informal group still there. Just ask around the local auto shops. A friend of mine used to run a body shop there w/ his Dad, but I'm not sure they're still there.

There's a club in Salt Lake City...

Salt Lake City 4x4 Club

The Snake River Offroaders should be fairly close as well.

Also check out:

www.offroad.com (not too bad, but has some good info)

www.rockcrawler.com (really good site, some YJ specific)

www.rubiconownersforum.com (nothing YJ specific, but good info on newer stuff, great group of guys (and gals) just like TDR)

Pirate's boards are hard to deal with if you're new to jeeps or wheeling in general, especially if you post. Lots of good info if you can weed through the BS and childish banter. The main page has LOTS of good tech info and links.
